Anna Cairns

Hi! I’m Anna and I am the newest member at Eureka Vets, taking on the Head Nurse role. 

I started my career 23 years ago, training locally in Ashford and qualifying in 2001.  I spent 11 years at Eureka’s sister practice, Wigmore Vets, where in 2006 I obtained my Dentistry certificate.  Between then and now I have also worked in Emergency Critical Care.  These are the 2 main areas I have a keen interest in, but love all aspect of nursing.  I moved in to Veterinary management a few years back and really enjoy the challenge that day to day practice brings, and training the new generation of nurses coming through, helping them reach their goals.

At home I have a husband who shares my love of animals and the countryside.  He has willingly helped me with my waifs and strays over the years.  We have an old grumpy tabby cat and a very bouncy Labrador.  Away from work my time is spent walking and cycling.  Until recently I was a keen netball player, now I just enjoy watching netball and spending time with my family.
